CONTEXTILE became an international reference in the field of contemporary textile art. It is also a unique cultural and artistic event, which transforms the Guimar\u00e3es region into the centre of a process of interaction and connection between artists, creators, communities, industry and territories.<\/p>

Since its birth in 2012, this Contemporary Textile Art Biennial has assumed an international positioning, not only attracting artists from all over the world for its artistic programme, but also building relationships with an increasingly vast group of partners in all continents.<\/p>

The international exhibition is the core of the biennial’s programming, bringing together creators from dozens of countries and exploring the diversity of contemporary creation in textile art. In each edition, the Biennial invites the public to reflect on the specific context of one guest country.<\/p>
