Palha_na_L\u00e3_no_Linho is the exhibition that results from the artistic residency \u201cexperimenting with textiles\u201d with artists Cindy Steiler, M\u00f3nica Faria and Patr\u00edcia Oliveira, in the territory of Fafe and its communities. It is part of the \u2018Experimenting textiles\u2019 initiatives, carried out in the Vale do Ave territory by the Contextile biennial, with the purpose of connecting the different realities of textiles with each other and connecting audiences and communities to the creation processes around textiles.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Palha_na_L\u00e3_no_Linho is the personification of a cycle that pulsates in Fafe.<\/p>

It is the name that gives life to the exhibition, the result of the artistic residency \u201cexperimenting with textiles\u201d with artists Cindy Steiler, M\u00f3nica Faria and Patr\u00edcia Oliveira, in a creative and collaborative relationship with and in the municipality\u2019s territorial community.<\/p>

A program in partnership between the Municipality of Fafe and the Contextile biennial, and with the support of DGArtes.<\/p>

Getting to know the territory and getting involved in its rhythm is to constantly find the pulse of an ancient activity that wants to be reborn, rediscovered, retold through the fibers of rye straw, wool and linen.<\/p>

This curiosity for the interest in knowing the other, the new and the old, drives us to an incessant search to understand techniques, understand spaces, places, people in this sowing, washing, braiding, spinning, weaving with their own dynamics and identities.<\/p>

Walking through the villages of Fafe, sitting with groups of local artisanal production and speaking in spaces that carry the memory of doing, urges its activation and appreciation that makes this residence a recurrence. From those who have already been here, but want to return and revolt, driven by the desire to participate and share multidisciplinary processes, in search of meaning for a collective vision that work with fibers emanates.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
